Most private for profit employers are subject to unemployment laws. Managing claims and staying in compliance can be a full time job in itself. ECP can assist your staff with all of your unemployment compensation needs.
Claims Management
Once a claim is filed, ECP will file the required separation paperwork on behalf of the employer. We will ensure that it is filed accurately and in a timely manner. In the event that a claim is filed that is fraudulent, ECP assists in the appeal process. Any necessary documentation is collected to support the validity of the reason for separation of employment. All documentation is then forwarded to Job and Family Services. If a hearing is required, we provide hearing representation to assist in preventing the claim from being paid. Any documents related to the claim are securely stored in house and available as needed for review.
Preventive Education
In the event of a fraudulent claim, the documentation that is provided by the employer that relates to the circumstances involving termination is often the deciding factor to allow or deny the claim. ECP consults with all of our clients on their current processes and documentation relating to employee discipline and termination to ensure that they are adequately protected from fraudulent claims. If you are not currently documenting corrective action or terminations in written format, ECP can provide you with some suggested processes and documents to begin doing so.
